5 Winter Outfits for One Easy Week
Five easy outfits, one for each weekday, built from pieces that mix and match: knit dresses, a plaid set, wide-leg trousers and boots.

Winter mornings are dark and cold, and nobody wants to stand in front of the wardrobe for twenty minutes. Here are five easy outfits, one for each weekday, built from pieces that work together. Mix and swap them, and you've got a week sorted.
Monday: the knit dress
Start the week with one piece that does it all. A ribbed or turtleneck dress is warm, comfortable and instantly polished. Add ankle boots and a longline coat, and you're out the door.
The pieces: Hannah, a ribbed wrap-front dress, or Meredith, a turtleneck dress; Faith, block-heel ankle boots; Arabella, a tailored longline coat.
Tuesday: the matching set
A co-ord takes all the thinking out of getting dressed. A relaxed plaid two-piece looks smart for the office and stays comfortable all day. Wear the pieces together, then split them up later in the week.
The pieces: Nancy, a relaxed plaid two-piece set, plus a quilted jacket like Calla for the commute.
Wednesday: trousers and a cardigan
Midweek calls for easy. Wide-leg trousers with a fitted top and a button-tab cardigan look relaxed but put together. Add tall boots under the trousers for extra warmth.
The pieces: Prudence, high-waisted wide-leg trousers; Grace, a ribbed button-tab cardigan; a long-sleeve top from Tops & Blouses.
Thursday: the shirt dress
A checked shirt dress is a winter classic. Belt it at the waist, add tall boots, and throw a vest or blazer over it if the office is chilly.
The pieces: Maren, a belted checked shirtdress; Gretchen, riding-style tall boots; Vivian, a cable-knit vest.
Friday: weekend-ready
Ease into the weekend with a cosy hoodie and relaxed trousers. A quilted jacket and lace-up boots keep it practical for evening plans or an early start on Saturday.
The pieces: Elsie, a Nordic-patterned hoodie; Margot, relaxed tapered trousers; Maxine, timeless lace-up boots.
Make it work for you
- Pick one coat and one pair of boots in a neutral colour. They'll go with every outfit above.
- Re-wear the set. Tuesday's plaid trousers work with Wednesday's cardigan, and the top works under Thursday's blazer.
- Lay it out the night before. Five minutes in the evening saves a rushed morning.
